Here’s a demonstration of what the Pharisees were doing when Messiah rebuked them. The hand washing ritual that was a “tradition of the elders” but was no where in scripture. This is the context for the Mark chapter 7 verse that stated, it’s not what enters the man that defiles him… when we examine this passage, you can see that the pharisees considered the disciples defiled because they didn’t wash their hands before eating bread.
